Just about any day of the week is a Special day to stop by the Diamond Paradise-on Rt 12 in Fox Lake-Taco Tuesday, Wed Burger/Beer $6, or Fri Fish Fry. I go for the specialty Golden Brown French Toast myself because nothing I’ve tasted FOR MILES in the surrounding breakfast cafes has that recipe’s special ingredients! Starting with fresh bakery bread and tasting the vanilla (there’s a secret ingredient Cook will never tell) it outsells the chicken and waffles every time. Kinda like the food and jewelry store combo, this business is an unusual mixture of tastes and is a diamond in the rough. There are no flashing lights or dancing roosters claiming your attention as you drive by Diamond Paradise on Rt 12 in Fox Lake. It’s a local treasure you find by word of mouth and that’s how you know it’s one of the best places to eat in the lakes region- no one can keep a secret! It’s too good not to brag about or bring the rest of the family with or stop by to pick up the tacos for Tuesday’s dinner every week! Family owned, family-staffed (if you don’t feel related after coming here to eat a couple times it’s you- not them!) Paradise is the place you go before you have the eye exam on Sat morn, after the kid’s softball game, before going to the Fox Theatre. Spread the love and support local women-owned business, ladies, when you go someplace quiet for coffee and check out the estate sale jewelry! STOP in and give yourself time to eat something fresh cooked and not part of the chain gang of food joints on the rest Rt 12. This is how you get those cute little places to eat in YOUR town—you support them! There is a variety on the menu that covers breakfast, lunch or dinner all day. You don’t have to die to go to Paradise but the taste of the food might fool you into thinking it was “made in heaven!”

This shop is amazing. Visited for the first time last week. Stopped in with a silver bracelet because the clasp wasn't staying closed and would open up and fall off. They fixed it in a few minutes and didn't even charge me. I will definitely be coming here for my jewelry repair from now on.
