Mayberry Junction

We went for the experience of nostalgia but got so much more! Our dinners were amazing and the portions were generous. Prices were on par for restaurant prices. The servers were friendly and helpful...above and beyond any place we've been lately! The atmosphere was adorable...a step into Mayberry's Diner!!! You have to go there. We're going to make the 30 minute trip back and try breakfast & Aunt Bea's Pancakes!

It's a diner so don't expect Michelin Star service or Gordon Ramsay's level of prepared food.

That said, they serve good, hardy meals at a reasonable price. Oh, and the menu is extensive and I haven't had a bad meal in our annual visits in 5 years.

The ladies that run the front of the house are awesome. They don't suffer fools, they give as good as they get and harass/insult the people that they know and love in the best ways possible.

In many ways it could be considered a meal and a show. It's a local thing so don't try to participate. Just enjoy the interaction.

The only criticism I have about the food is that the mashed potatoes and green beans are boiled to the point that the water they were boiled in probably has more flavor. But they're side dishes and could possibly be how they're locally cooked.

The food was AMAZING! Prices were very reasonable. The staff was absolutely wonderful.

First time here after hearing about it for years. Really busy at 10:30 Saturday morning but only a short wait for a table in a modern version of an old school diner. Great, friendly service and even better food. Perfect basted eggs and fluffy, real egg omelets cooked just right. Endless cup of HOT coffee and tasty pancakes. Don't know why it took us so many years to get here but will definitely make this our new regular stop for breakfast.
