St Mary’s grammar school/ church has been part of our family for generations. Most of my south side family have attend school and church there. I continue to attend mass there. The teachers and staff are awesome. Always driving the students for excellence. Preparing them for there next step. Giving the education required to excel in high school and then to college. St.Mary’s is an institution that have served the south side of Chicago it’s families with an outstanding education as well as there spiritual needs.

This was my church since I was born. I was raised through the school attached with the church, so we spent a lot of time in church. I don't believe I've been here in at least 5 years. This occasion was a funeral mass. The mass was typical, but the Priest was astounding. I will post his name later. He made the mass enriching, almost hypnotic, mostly enjoyable considering the occasion. I had flashbacks to the older, previous alter of the church. I miss that look. Still love the stained glass windows. It was good to be home again.

We enjoy 6pm mass on Sunday. The organist has a beautiful voice and we always enjoy the music. The sermons are meaningful and not generic, prepared sermons. The parishioners are friendly and helpful. There is a wheelchair accessible bench for my Mom's wheelchair and the Eucharistic Ministers come back there with communion without prompting.
If you don't want to get up early on Sunday, this mass is a great alternative.
