Call ahead for an appointment, bring cash and enjoy a wide assortment of great magazines and books if you show up early.

Kempt provides great service, attention to detail, and witty banter. If you have time, get a shave AND a haircut - you will not be disappointed.

He does a great job with myself, my 13-year-old, and my 2 1/2 year old.

I am lucky to have gone to Lloyd for over ten years now. If that's not a testament to the service, professionalism and quality, I don't know what else is?!

The gentleman did a good job. The shop is clean and has a good atmosphere. Seats are clean and comfortable. Since it was my first time the gentleman was kind to accommodate me without waiting even though most of their work is appointed based.

The owner of Kempt barber is not only a great barber but a great person. I recently donated my hair and was looking for a place to cut it that also wouldn't mind immediately bagging it. While other places declined he not only said yes but also asked me to let the charity know that he would put out advertising materials so anyone that wants to walk in and donate their hair easily could. Will definitely return and hope kempt is wildly successful as they are great people.

Good cut but they charged more than the website says ($28 vs $24) and they only accept cash, which I didn’t see on the website. With a tip you’re getting into the mid-$30’s and that starts begging for amenities you might find at a fancier place. The barber was super nice and again, the cut was solid. I might go back if I had some specific reason to have a sharp cut (interview, event, etc), but for a normal monthly or 6-week cut it was a little pricy for what I got and given what else is available in the neighborhood (my old spot downtown was at least as good a cut and came with a hair wash and hot towel and was only slightly more expensive—but you expect to pay more downtown; there are plenty of $15-$22 cuts within a half mile of this place). I like to know what to expect and the website wasn’t clear (or was just wrong) about price, cash requirement, and the type of service to expect. If $28 doesn’t sound like very much to you, then you might love this spot.
