I absolutely love this clinic ! I have been bringing my dog here for over a year and have had my cats there also, they are very welcoming and ensure great care for all pets. They are always very helpful and are more than happy to help accommodate with what works best for you and your pet. The staff is all so kind and always love on all of the pets that come through the doors. I highly recommend this clinic !!!

We are new to using the Harvard Vet. They have been so nice. We are bringing our new puppy there. They got us right in when our puppy had an issue. They also didn't do any unnecessary procedures to figure things out. Thank you!

All my pets have been coming here for about 6 years now. I recently brought in my cat for treatment of kidney stones for the second time, and finally paid attention to how serious his condition was. Staff were very kind and patient with both of us, and saved my precious Fergus's life, for which me and my family are eternally grateful.

We were fostering a feral kitten named Dudley that had been found limping on the streets in Chicago. X-rays from the shelter showed that he had a broken pelvis and broken femoral head on one leg. They told us he would need an FHO surgery to be adoptable and was in a lot of pain.

After searching places in the Chicagoland area, no local vets would perform a FHO surgery and kept referring us to expensive emergency clinics and veterinary schools. I called these clinics and they gave me outrageous quotes. I felt like they were viewing me as a wallet and not as a person.

I used to live in Harvard about 10 years ago , and had taken our dog and cats at the time to Harvard Veterinary Clinic and I remembered they did surgeries so I called them up to get a quote. Dr. Costello took the time to explain the surgery to me and answer all my questions about the procedure and recovery process. He gave me a reasonable quote and treated me like a person. It was a breath of fresh air! We scheduled Dudley's surgery and in the meantime started a campaign to raise money for his surgery.

I asked Dr. Costello if we could have photos of the surgery and do a live video of the check-in so that Dudley's online supporters could see how they've helped him. He was very understanding and supportive and allowed us to do the video and provided us with great images of the surgery.

Right after Dudley's surgery, he let me go back to see Dudley waking up and showed me the post-op x-rays. They kept Dudley overnight to monitor him to make sure he was doing well.

The next day we picked up Dudley and Dr. Costello made sure to go over the medications and what we should expect during the weeks of Dudley's recovery. I mentioned how I had read some blogs about other cats' FHO surgery recoveries and how there were a lot of horror stories with opioid side effects. Dr. Costello told me not to worry, that he wasn't giving Dudley opioids, just NSAIDS to manage the pain. He took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns and even gave me his cell number in case I had any more questions or if anything happened.

When Dudley got home, we were expecting the worst because of all the stories we read about other cats' FHO recoveries. But unlike other cats who've had this surgery, Dudley wanted to eat, drink, and play right away! On Day 2 he was already putting weight on the leg and walking around. Dr. Costello was spot on in the amount and type of pain medication Dudley needed. Now it's 8 days post-op and Dudley already wants to run around and jump. He is feeling so much better already!
