This is a team of Everyday Heroes. Last week I slipped on Invisible Ice in the park, breaking three bones in my left foot. All of my left Ligaments were torn. My foot appeared to dangle as I lay on the ground.

A local resident in close proximity, saw me fall. He called for an ambulance. I am grateful to him. Within a few minutes, three young, professional paramedics, came to my rescue. They carefully lifted me on to a stretcher and then put me in their Fire Department Ambulance, which they had driven into the park to reach me.

As we rode to the ER, this Amazing, Strong Grayslake Team took my Vitals, and asked me important questions, including current medications and allergies. My Husband would meet us at the ER. He said that Pupper Eileen 🐕‍🦺 tried to jump into the ambulance 🚑 with me.

The Grayslake Fire Protection Team did an excellent job keeping me stable and in updating me on what was happening. They said that I was brave. As they wheeled me into the ER, I knew that I would never forget their kindness, respect, dedication, and humanity. They truly are this community's Everyday Heroes, helping people and saving lives.
