Photos are of Deer Grove Forest Preserve just south of Lake Cook Road. Late October. Maples were still beautiful!

I'm an avid trekker and it always boggles my mind to think about how many people don't know about the dozens and dozens of beautiful trails around northern IL, and particularly Chicagoland. Cook County Forest Preserve is just one of those areas. Highly recommend - this one's easy for people of all ages!

It was beautiful. Even though we are getting some colder night, there's still some color.. just look. The trees are still beautiful where we were thought.. Enjoy! There's a lot to see

Beautiful Forest Preserve with continuing work on keeping it clean. The restoration project they've been doing seems to have brought back more/different wildlife than we've seen there over the years. Overall and only speaking for the Deer Grove Forest Preserve of Cook County, the county's doing a wonderful job with the upkeep.
