Brandt's of Palatine

Brandt's offers a great place to enjoy fantastic burgers, excellent chili, amazing cheese curds, and I'm sure a number of other great items that I have yet to try. All in a homey friendly atmosphere. Top notch service also included.

let me tell you first off I'm not a coleslaw guy but I'm really not a big beans guy so I ordered the coleslaw for a side. there's a reason why I'm telling you this before I say anything about the meal. this is what coleslaw is supposed to taste like.
this place is well over a 2-hour drive to my house but I'm coming here every time I want coleslaw. I've never had coleslaw like this. it's supposed to taste like this. it's not watery or too spicy or to blend it has the right amount of crunch and I just don't understand why I can't order just the bowl of coleslaw if I can order a bowl of soup!
okay now on to the meals, this place was recommended to Us by a retired chef who sold me his car that same day. I asked if there was anything in the area and this is where he pointed us to. I have the quesadilla burger which was not served on bread, I guess everybody else does it wrong! it had a lot of guacamole on it, didn't skimp on anything. there was a nice variety for my side selection they had homemade chips or crinkle fries or something or regular fries or steak fries. I got the steak fries and she got regular fries. we ended up switching because we like each other's better. she had a burger I think it was called the black and bleu, red blue cheese on it. she doesn't eat bread so she was missing out. the bread looks fantastic. you might think it's a little pricey but getting a burger and fries and McDonald's is 10 bucks these days. these burgers I believe were $13.99. They have a nice holiday drink list but we didn't try anything. prices were listed on everything except for the wine and beer list which I assume changes all the time with the ridiculous Illinois alcohol taxes.

The food was pretty good...a bit above average. The service was really good. It was busy when we went, but overall I'd say it was worth the wait. The cheese curds as an appetizer were amazing, and same with the firecracker shrimp.

Recently tried Brandt's for the first time ever! What a hidden gem! So many options and a variety of different items for all tastes. We were a party of 6, including a small child, and we wanted a variety to choose from. We were not disappointed! Seated promptly, drinks quickly served. We took a while deciding what we wanted because it just all sounded so good!

We started with appetizers; fresh potato skins and homemade chips and salsa! We did not leave anything on the plate! Then, we ordered a burger, chicken sandwich, Reuben, patty melt and Buffalo chicken wrap.. very little leftovers! Everything was delicious. Fresh coleslaw was the best we've ever had!

Service was great! Busy for a Saturday night at dinner hour, but we can see why! We will definitely be back!

I was referred here by one of my patients for the best burgers in the area. Well, I would have to agree! The burger options are very simple but very effective! Their beef patty is so juicy. We also tried some of the other foods. We were also very surprised with the ribs. The meat just falls off as soon as you touch it. Now that's ribs done right. You can't go wrong with any side but I strongly recommend the chips as your side. Coleslaw that comes with the meal is hands done the best. Within a 3 weeks span I have come twice both times were outstanding. The patient who referred me said that there usually is a long wait during the typical busy times. I got lucky both times and was and to get a table immediately. Definitely will keep coming.
